Starmind are really interesting.
They use Q&A and AI (modern skill mapping tools) to identify 'experts' within an organisation.
Their platform accesses Teams, intranets, email etc and the AI searches out who is using certain terms most often. This identifies a user as an 'expert' at something. To find an expert, you enter your search terms e.g. 'terms and privacy', the platform surfaces a list of people in the organisation who frequently use 'terms and privacy' in their content. You can then inspect this list and decide who to approach.
In addition, they have a Q&A section. It works much like the Senate. You ask a question, it is automatically tagged with key words, the system pings the AI data base and identifies the best 'experts' to answer this question and sends them an automatic 'answer request'.
Watch the 3min video on this page to get a good idea of what they can do.

Short fall - Starmind can't operate outside an organisation as it needs data in which to identify experts.
Suggestion - in our badges build, is there a way of building in skills mapping? Example: badges relate to the tags of the questions answered. Bronze badge for 'competitive landscape' awarded to Tamsin for answering 3 questions this week. Added to members page, this text: 'Tamsin is building a profile as an expert in competitive landscape'.
